Feedback on the initiative to mobilize African civil society launched by the Declaration of local and regional African elected representatives at the Climate Chance Summit in Agadir. On that occasion, African elected representatives confirmed their commitment to the fight against climate change and set out their priorities and proposals, inviting actors in all territories to mobilize on a wide scale. This appeal echoes the American initiative “We are still in” and is supported by the major global networks of local authorities.

Stock-take of COP23 from the non Party stakeholders’ point of view
This session will be an opportunity to assess the two weeks of negotiation and events, from the perspective of non Party stakeholders. Taking account of the recommendations and priorities set out in the Agadir Declaration, we invite representatives of the major groups and thematic coalitions to debate the progress of COP 23 and the Global Climate Action (GCA) meetings and discuss future priorities (especially for the Facilitative Dialogue in 2018).

In connection with the Climate Summit organized by France on 12 December in Paris, the Climate Chance Association is organizing on 10 December, a side-event on “Access to funding: non-State actors’ priority proposals arising from the World Climate Chance Summit 2017.
The aim is to gather together the community of non-State actors united around the dynamics of climate chance to continue the various lines of work – particularly of the thematic coalitions concerned directly or, on a cross-disciplinary basis, by access to climate finance, in order to come up with 10 concrete proposals to feed into the round tables at the Climate and Green Economy Summit on 12 December 2017.
European Climate Chance Summit. European cities are being consulted about hosting the 2018 Summit with a more regional dimension, prior to the Californian Summit in September 2018.
