Climate Chance World Summit : 3 days of meetings of climate non-state actors
The second Climate Chance Summit , the forum for non-State actors engaged in the fight against climate change, was held in Agadir, Morocco, from 11 to 13 September 2017. This second summit was co-organized by the Souss-Massa Region, under the high patronage of His Majesty the King of Morocco, in the run-up to COP23. It received support from the presidencies of COP22 and COP23 and from Ms. Hakima EL HAITE, High-Level Climate Champion.
Exceptional mobilization of the international community of non-State actors.
More than 5000 participants of 80 nationalities came together in Agadir to share their concrete solutions and examples of good practice and bring out synergies around common themes. The summit bears witness to the push for unity and desire for genuine exchanges between all non-State actors.
The 1st large-scale meeting post COP22 in Africa, chaired by Morocco, the World Climate Chance Summit included 120 sessions facilitated by 400 contributors around debates focusing on the progress of climate action.

|Finally, the strong involvement of the actors attending was made clear by the joint commitments undertaken through the signature of two declarations, the launch of three new large-scale initiatives and four new signatories to Under2MoU.|
The Agadir Declaration : a joint declaration to step up action and ambition together!
Adopted unanimously at the closing plenary, the Agadir Declaration sets out the priorities of non-State actors for the next 15 months up to COP24 in Katowice – Poland.
More than a simple statement, this declaration has been build as a roadmap in the lead up of the 2018 facilitative dialogue provided in the Paris Agreement and with for the climate actors are committed to step up climate action and urge State Parties to amplify their ambition.

On the 12th September 2017, at the African Mobilization Day, a call has been launched in echo with the « We are still in » initiative to mobilize the african society.
