LiquidGold Africa PitLess Generation project will see the deployment of over 1500 E-containers, which is a 100% waterless gender neutral sanitation and nutrient recovery solution, into schools through a public-private partnership to meet the urgent need to eradicate pit toilets in schools impacting over 3 500 000 million children.
The project will be the largest urine diversion and nutrient recovery project in the World. LiquidGold will gain over 8000 tones of fertilizer per year from the project leading to the biggest biological circular project in Africa and aiding towards food security from the resources extracted through the process.
Toilet resources are a major part of the bio-cycle and are seen as one of the greatest opportunities of the decade (www.toiletboard.org).

Mise en oeuvre
Pitless Generation has :
- 8 active sites ;
- over 6000 female uses, saving over 2 million litres per site, saving over 3 000 litres of waste per month ;
- created 3 jobs so far.
The project has successfully saved reduced 33 153 tonnes of Co2 through the process.

The project was fund through private sector on Community Social investments budgets.
LiquidGold is an high growth company in the circular economy for sanitation waste with global designed, patented and manufactured dry toilets for both male and females.
The focus is to save the precious water resources and create new products from toilet resources (human waste) in a simple and cost-effective manner.
