Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week 2020

The Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week 2020 was planned to take place in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic from 6-10th July 2020 but has been postponed to 2021.

Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week 2020

The UNFCCC’s website states that « The RCWs include series of events that provide space for a grassroots exchange of knowledge and best practices across the region on: Implementation of  Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Global Climate Action (GCA).

Every year the RCWs are held in the following regions: Africa, Latin-America and Caribbean, and Asia-Pacific. As of 2020, the RCWs will also be convened in the Middle East and Northern African region.  »

The Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week 2020 in the Dominican Republic will be the perfect moment for state and non-state actors to gather in order to create « regional » momentum prior to COP26 that will take place Glasgow, UK in November.
