Workshop at the European Energy Transition Conference
Tuesday 23rd May 2023, Bordeaux, France
On Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023, Climate Chance is organizing a workshop at the European Energy Transition Conference on "Acting together towards carbon neutrality by 2050" in Bordeaux, France. This workshop focuses on the resilience of cities and regions in a constrained geopolitical context.
What resilience for local governments in a restricted geopolitical context?
The year 2022 was marked by an unprecedented energy crisis that affected all of Europe, especially with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The local governments, cities and regions of the EU are showing resilience.
In this context, the association Climate Chance proposes a decyphering of climate action trends, particularly in the energy sector, based on the analyses of the Global Observatory of Climate Action.
Climate Chance invites local actors to address the issue of adaptation and resilience: In a restricted geopolitical context, especially in terms of energy, how can transition policies be put at the service of the resilience of the local governments?
Speakers:
- Jean-Yves Grandidier, Founder and President of Valorem
- Elaine Briand, Local Energy and Climate Policy Officer, Brittany Region
- Thierry Salomon, Vice-president and spokesperson of the NégaWatt Association
