Africa SDG School

CHALLENGES International: To contribute to the human, social and sustainable development of society through concrete actions and the use of ITCs.

An initiative of CHALLENGES International

Overview of the project

The SDG Summer School is a development learning process based on the Sustainable Development Goals, and an opportunity to share best practices on the implementation of the SDGs at the international level for local development.

Its objectives are to:

  • Understand the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and adapt them at the local level
  • Meet, share and learn from international stakeholders (scientists, development actors, government authorities, NGOs and businesses)
  • To provide an opportunity for participants to exchange views, and provide suggestions that can contribute to the definition and identification of local sustainable development priorities
  • To solicit support for civil society organisations in monitoring the implementation of projects and programmes in the context of the geographic location of the SDGs
  • Identify champions and ambassadors for the SDGs, taking into account their actions
  • Establish an advocacy strategy for the SDGs and the African Union’s Agenda 2063
  • Engage and act locally by initiating actions around the achievement of the SDGs
