The 6th edition of the Desertif’Actions 2026 Summit will take place in Djerba, Tunisia, from March 25 to 28, 2026. Organized by the Centre for International Actions and Achievements (CARI), in partnership with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS), the ACDD, and WWF North Africa, this event is a key gathering for all stakeholders engaged in the resilience of fragile territories.

The summit will bring together over 350 international participants, including researchers, scientists, NGO representatives, local authorities, public institutions, and private sector actors. It will provide a platform to exchange ideas, share experiences, and co-develop practical solutions to address droughts and land degradation.

Over four days, participants will attend plenary sessions, thematic workshops, and group work covering topics such as sustainable water management, pastoralism and climate-smart agriculture, and territorial planning to strengthen resilience to droughts.

A day open to the general public, the Arid Lands Village, will feature booths, lectures, and interactive activities to raise awareness and mobilize around issues of desertification and sustainable land management.

This event also contributes to international discussions on desertification and prepares participants for the debates at UNCCD COP17 in Mongolia.
