European Ocean Days 2026 — Action Week for a Sustainable Ocean

The European Ocean Days 2026 will take place from 2 to 6 March 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. This is the 3rd edition of the event, organized under the framework of the European Ocean Pact, a European initiative aimed at promoting the prosperity, competitiveness, security, and sustainability of oceans through coherent policies, innovation, and collaborative actions involving all relevant stakeholders.

Over the course of the week, dynamic and interconnected sessions (conferences, workshops, consultations, and community events) will allow participants to exchange on marine and ocean topics, address upcoming challenges, strengthen existing solutions, and support the implementation of the European Ocean Pact.

Objectives of the European Ocean Days 2026

• Foster dialogue among multiple stakeholders — policymakers, industry representatives, scientists, startups, coastal communities, and civil society — to design sustainable solutions for the oceans.

• Explore innovative approaches ranging from marine governance to the transition toward a more resilient blue economy.

• Support the implementation of the European Ocean Pact, facilitating the sharing of ideas, best practices, and concrete initiatives that enhance the sustainability and climate adaptation of coastal and marine areas.

• Give a voice to youth, local communities, and emerging actors, promoting a collective vision for a sustainable ocean in the long term.

The European Ocean Days 2026 will include:

• Consultations and thematic roundtables on ocean governance, sustainable blue economy, marine ecosystem protection, and maritime security and competitiveness.

• Interactive workshops and discussions on key priorities such as climate change adaptation, innovation in maritime and ocean sectors, and community engagement.

• Exhibitions and project demonstrations supported by European missions, including EU initiatives for ocean and water restoration.

• Sessions dedicated to youth and ocean education, inspiring the next generation to engage for the future of the seas.
