Fifth Forum of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change 2026
The Fifth Forum of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change 2026 is a major European platform bringing together policymakers, experts, local authorities, and practitioners to share, co-create, and implement concrete and replicable climate adaptation solutions.
The EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change is organizing its Fifth Annual Forum, which will take place from 27–28 May 2026 in Nicosia, Cyprus. This event is part of Europe’s climate resilience strategy and aims to highlight practical, scalable adaptation solutions already implemented across different regions of Europe.
The Forum is co-organized by the European Commission and the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It enables public and private stakeholders — local and regional authorities, experts, researchers, and partners — to share experiences, explore innovative tools, and co-develop responses to climate challenges at local and regional levels.
The event aims to:
- Promote concrete adaptation solutions already implemented or under development within Mission-supported projects
- Facilitate multisectoral exchanges and collaborations between policymakers, local authorities, scientists, and practitioners
- Explore innovative tools, approaches, and practices to enhance territorial resilience against increasing climate risks such as heatwaves, floods, and droughts.
The program includes:
- Pre-Forum activities on 27 May, including field visits around Nicosia to observe local climate resilience initiatives and address region-specific risks.
- A pre-Forum workshop dedicated to the Mission’s Community of Practice, promoting interactive exchanges among practitioners
- A networking reception on the evening of 27 May to expand contacts among international participants
- The main Forum on 28 May, featuring presentations, collaborative discussions, and sharing of best practices.
