IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025
The IUCN World Conservation Congress Forum is being held in Abu Dhabi from 9 to 15 October 2025. Representing the world's largest gathering of experts, decision-makers and leaders committed to nature conservation, this event aims to shape global priorities on conservation and climate change.

The conference, organised every 4 years by the IUCN, has three complementary components: The Forum, the Members’ Assembly and the Exhibition.
The Forum is a platform for dialogue and innovation, open to all stakeholders (institutions, civil society, researchers, companies) to discuss concrete solutions to environmental crises. The Members’ Assembly, IUCN’s decision-making body, brings together States, NGOs and partner agencies to adopt structuring resolutions and set the main directions for global conservation. Lastly, the Exhibition provides a showcase for the projects, tools and research of the organisations involved, promoting visibility, networking and partnerships around biodiversity and climate issues. This space is open to conference participants and the general public.
The event will address five main themes aimed at transforming nature conservation:
- Scaling up resilient conservation action
- Reducing the risks of climate overshoot
- Achieving equity by putting minority voices at the centre of action to ensure equitable rights
- Transitioning to nature-positive economies and societies
- Innovation and leadership for conservation
