Desertif’actions 2017

Strasbourg, France

On the initiative of the CARI and Climate Chance associations and in partnership with the city of Strasbourg and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, "Désertif'actions 2017" was held in Strasbourg on 27 and 28 June 2017 with for perspective, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, starting with the target 15.3 of a world neutral in land degradation.

Meeting in Strasbourg at Desertif'Actions and representing the diversity of non-state actors - civil society organizations, local authorities, scientists, companies, representatives of indigenous peoples, women and youth, farmers or trade unions, we consider together that it is time for strengthening action, at the level of environmental and social emergencies, including the reduction of inequalities in development, consistent with all of the Sustainable Development Goals.

"Reducing land degradation and restoring degraded lands must become a priority of the international community" received the support of AFPAT - Association of Indigenous Peoples of Chad, the Nubian vault, Enda Energy, WECF, the France Freedoms Foundation, World Association of the Major Metropolises, GPS-Dev (Governance & Policies for Sustainable Development ), FMDV and UCLG among others.
