This 'adaptation project in Morocco aims to battle the negative effects of climate change in the Oasis region of Tata in Morocco.

An initiative of Association for friends of palm trees for development, capacity building and adaptation to climate change.

Overview of the project

Five essential steps have been put in place to guarantee the project's success:
  1. Cleaning all palm trees to avoid fires
  2. Creating new Oases
  3. Implementing drip irrigation systems to save money
  4. Planting 100,000 palm trees
  5. Raising awareness for local residents and associative workers on the effects on climate change in the Tata region

  • raising awareness to Oasis populations on sustainable development issues
  • adaptation to climate change
  • outreach on the importance and relevance of renewable energies especially solar energy
  • capacity building for management for local residents
  • creating and managing development projects
  • support for local feminine NGOs and help for their  appropriation of micro-projects that generate income
