Stereotypes in the ecological transition: why and how to change the representations of our lifestyles?

Stereotypes in the ecological transition: why and how to change the representations of our lifestyles?

“Boys like maths, girls like literature”. Stereotypes around us are plentiful, and they influence our behaviour by structuring the information we perceive, even if it means sometimes limiting or biasing it. But, what about when it comes to the ecological transition? This workshop is intended for all those who wish to become involved in the transformation of our society, and in particular, for communications specialists. It will enable you to identify and decipher the stereotypes that affect our vision of the ecological transition today, as well as to imagine ways of constructing new imaginaries. Do certain social representations limit the necessary transformations? Are there other representations to be encouraged? How can we inspire and open up to new imaginaries? What is the role for advertising and communications specialists? The workshop will be based on the guide “Representations of Lifestyle and the Ecological Transition”, a pedagogical tool organised around 10 stereotypes, which is intended to be a source of inspiration to envision our ways of living differently.
