Carbon Account
The carbon account mechanism aims to guarantee the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by allocating to each citizen a carbon currency that will be renewed every year.
Overview of the project
The Nudge Effect for the climate. A nudge effect means anchoring a behaviour without pressure, and that is the advantage of the carbon point, or poink ͼ, to be printed on all product and service labels. By labelling it, we embed carbon reduction into the carbon account mechanism, cutting our greenhouse gas emissions by 6% per year, painlessly. A step towards sobriety to protect the habitability of the planet. It is simply information, but it prompts reflection, sparks questions from children, and engages citizens. It is not about moralising or punitive measures, just information! Sobriety can then follow naturally when the receipt reminds us that the Paris Agreement targets 2,000 carbon points per person per year by 2050. What did I do today for sobriety? What second-hand purchases did I make? What old clothes did I dig out? What legumes replaced my excess red meat? The visibility of a simple symbol Ͼ (the point in the C for poink, or carbon point, available on Windows in the Greek alphabet as a lunar sigma) leaves an impression without getting in the way. We must attempt, through a carbon weight labelling law, to shift behaviours towards sobriety. Such labelling also puts pressure on companies, who see the more attractive carbon weights of their competitors and are thus incentivised to decarbonise to avoid losing customers. Finally, it is an addable physical quantity, enabling tracking over a longer period than a moment in front of a shelf, a physical quantity based on the ISO 14067 standard, which will avoid the complexity criticisms faced by the Planetscore or even the Nutriscore. See https://poink.eu/. A private member’s bill is scheduled for the cross-party parliamentary slot in December 2026.
The poink is a complementary currency designed to stop climate chaos by curbing capitalism.

A cross-party bill is scheduled for submission in the French Parliament in December 2026.
Around thirty MPs have expressed interest in a bill to mandate carbon labelling on all products and services.

organisation
The carbon account mechanism aims to guarantee the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by allocating to each citizen a carbon currency, renewed annually with a decreasing allowance aligned with the Paris Agreement. This carbon currency is required to “pay” for the carbon content of all purchases of goods and services. It is organised as an alliance of 30 NGOs and operators, coordinated by a Carbon Account Institute.
