The project addresses several critical needs within the Poundioum community, including: Adapting agricultural production to climate change. Providing training in modern and sustainable farming techniques. Improving the living conditions of farmers, particularly women and young people. Improving access to quality agricultural resources and inputs.

To improve the resilience and sustainability of agricultural production in the Saint-Louis region by training the farmers and livestock breeders of tomorrow—particularly young people and women—in sustainable agricultural techniques.

Through three specific objectives:

• Help 75% of beneficiaries create or improve their agricultural enterprises.
• Increase the production of fresh produce by 30% among beneficiaries who apply the techniques taught.
• Raise awareness among 200 family members about food security and sustainable agricultural practices.

The project draws inspiration from local initiatives led by producers and livestock breeders, as well as from the Senegalese government’s commitment to developing agriculture in order to achieve food self-sufficiency and address mass youth unemployment. This commitment recognizes the importance of training and learning in improving agricultural production.

Lessons learned from these initiatives include:

• The importance of involving women in agricultural activities.
• The need to adapt training programmes to local realities and the specific needs of farmers.
