Overview of the project
TourneSOL, developed by SUEZ Consulting, is a GIS methodology that helps local authorities to identify areas that are conducive to nature in the city. It combines climate issues, biodiversity, pollution, soil and vulnerability to plan sustainable development in line with the objective of zero net artificialisation.
A methodology for quantifying and mapping plots of land that are favourable to the development of urban nature projects, maximising the co-benefits for local residents.

TourneSOL facilitates multi-criteria urban planning by integrating flooding, heat islands, quality of life and biodiversity.
Our methodology can be applied to any urban area in metropolitan France, from the most rural to the most urban and densely populated. The methodology incorporates around twenty indicators based on 5 thematic building blocks.
The project is financed in part by SUEZ Consulting's internal innovation, and in part by Caisse des Dépôts as part of the ‘impact accelerator’ programme.
