Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for Sustainable Mobility
Description
Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) are still too often considered as simple technological sub-systems integrated into large-scale projects, rather than as a cross-cutting component of urban mobility.
Their deployment raises issues of governance, coordination and the sharing of responsibilities between authorities, regulated operators, informal transport providers and new service providers.
It also requires a common technical framework to ensure data reliability, security, standardization and interoperability.
Beyond improving mobility, ITS can contribute to a more integrated and efficient management of cities and other essential services, supporting the development of sustainable cities and smart territories.
