2FCé (One Family, One improved household and 10 kg of clean coal)

Thbis project consists in improving waste management in rural areas by valuing organic household waste with the ambition to transform it into energy such as biogaz or clean coal.

An initiative of Family Green Corporation

Overview of the project

The 2FCé project is part of a programme titled PVCé (Programme for clean coal outreach) which aims to raise awareness and train populations in the domain of sustainable waste management and clean energy supply.

Naturally, this project emerged in order to provide 400 families in the Njombe-Penja commune with an improved household and 10 kh worth of clean coal in order to push them to adapt to this new source of clean energy and to familiarise them with waste sorting within their homes. The goal being to give these families the means to surpass the use of wood as a primary energy source for their daily needs, a source of energy that carries health, security and environmental risks.

This initiative should be established in all regional and local authorities with waste management issues. The project is therefore able to battle unemployment, insalubrity and climate change.

Objective

Producing energy from waste to battle insalubrity and improve the populations living conditions.

Level of progress

Ongoing research

Quantitative results

The project was officially launched in Penja with 30 families that benefited directly from the project and another  370 families are also taking part in the Pilote phase of the projet.

Qualitative results

Clean coal doesn’t create smoke, toxines or odors. It limits ocular problems (often linked to wood smoke).
