Overview of the project

FANSOTO, a Senegalese organisation supported by Entrepreneurs du Monde, helps rural women to develop their incomes through microcredit, savings and training. Since 2022, it has been focusing on agro-ecology and climate solutions. An AFD project is strengthening this dynamic by providing agricultural advisors, in-kind loans and community actions.

Quantitative results

In 2024, FANSOTO supported 20,000 beneficiaries. According to a 2023 study, after 3 to 4 years of support: 94% had improved their business, 97% had increased their savings, 91% had improved their ability to cope with unforeseen events, and school attendance among children aged 7 to 15 had risen from 68% to 97%.

Qualitative results

FANSOTO is a recognised player in Senegal. Thanks to its group dynamics, it strengthens social cohesion and trust. Beneficiaries improve their income, their security against unforeseen events and their children’s schooling. The impact extends to the community, with beneficiaries becoming role models and job creators.
