Sanbonai project: Responsible and resilient agriculture for food security in Analamanga, Bongolava and Itasy

An international solidarity association created by French agricultural professional organizations, Afdi supports family farmers in their efforts to earn a dignified living from their work.

An initiative of French Farmers and International Development - AFDI

Overview of the project

Afdi supports the SOA Network in Madagascar (34 farmers’ organizations, 30,000 producers) to strengthen the climate resilience of family farming.
In collaboration with AgriCord, a participatory method helps farmers identify risks and implement agroecological solutions.
In partnership with ANAE and with support from the European Union, these practices are shared through farmer-led field schools.
Key actions: water management, hedgerows, composting, intercropping, reforestation, and nurseries.

Objective

Support farmers' organizations in building the resilience of family farming in the face of climate change.
