Overview of the project
FIXNOW operates a repair model designed to keep electronic devices and usable components in service for longer. The initiative covers smartphones, tablets, laptops and smartwatches at locations in Antwerpen and Wolvertem, with a send-in option for customers elsewhere in Belgium. A central practice is glass-only repair for eligible displays. When the image, touch layer and underlying original display still function, technicians remove and replace the broken outer glass instead of replacing the complete display assembly. This preserves a working original component and avoids an unnecessary full-module replacement. For devices that are not suitable for glass-only work, FIXNOW explains the available repair options before the customer books. The model combines repair, transparent online information and local access. It aims to make extending a device’s useful life a practical alternative to replacing the device, while keeping original components in use whenever technically possible. The practice is ongoing and applied across supported device models as repairability allows.
