This project leaded by "PICO - Pastoralists Integrated Concerns Organization" aims to build capacity of pastoralist communities in Kajiado County, Kenya, for sustainable climate resilient sources of livelihood.

Overview of the project

PACCAP runs on a basis of a theory of change that believes in initiating change from the grassroots/indigenous people who influence policy making at the national and county level. This involves integration of maasai traditional approaches of environmental conservation and the conventional methods provided by the country’s (Kenya) framework on environmental conservation. Indigenous input are consolidated at the grassroots and escalated for their involvement in policy making at both the national and county level. This project also focuses on regeneration of the range lands – through reafforestation of indigenous trees which are climate resilient .
