Terrabella

Ecozao is a consultancy firm specialising in ecological and social transition, helping organisations (SMEs, associations, local authorities) in a wide range of sectors to implement ecological policies.

An initiative of Ecozao

Overview of the project

Terrabella helps organisations implement nature-based solutions using a three-stage method: participatory design, collective worksites and sustainable maintenance. Since 2022, ten projects have been launched, supported by a 4-hectare forest garden near Angers, producing 20,000 plants a year. By actively involving users, Terrabella reduces costs, strengthens cohesion and capitalises on best practice via a digital tool.

Objective

Terrabella is a participatory method designed to help organisations adapt the places where they live and work to the consequences of climate change, based on Nature-based Adaptation Solutions (SafN).

Qualitative results

Terrabella has already carried out concrete projects all over France, including a forest garden in Haute-Savoie and a pond and fruit hedges near Toulouse. Twelve projects are currently underway: five in design, five in implementation and two in maintenance.

Financing

Each project can be partly co-financed by local organisations. The forest garden project in Haute Savoie was co-financed by the Fonds Social pour l'Innovation of the Union Sociale pour l'Habitat.
