AGROMETSERVICE

AGROMETSERVICE offers farmers practical solutions for reducing losses, improving yields and securing their production in a context of climate change.

An initiative of AGROMETSERVICE

Overview of the project

African agriculture, dominated by small farms, is highly exposed to climatic risks. AGROMETSERVICE provides an innovative response with connected weather stations installed in the fields. Thanks to the IoT, farmers can access data in real time, receive early warnings and adapt their practices. The aim is to improve yields, reduce losses and strengthen resilience in the face of the climate. Platform: https://iot.bloctechno.com:9693/ui/ – Video: https://vimeo.com/901583115?share=copy

Objective

AGROMETSERVICE aims to strengthen farmers' resilience to climate change by providing connected weather stations and digital tools to optimise agricultural productivity.

Quantitative results

Since its launch, our prototype has enabled more than 50 farmers to increase their yields by 30% and reduce their losses by 40%. More than 100 weather alerts have been sent out. Deployed in three pilot regions, our connected station has a 67% satisfaction rate and is preparing for national expansion.

Qualitative results

The AGROMETSERVICE project has already shown positive impacts: better decision-making, less losses, greater climate resilience, satisfied users and more sustainable agriculture. These results confirm our determination to deploy our connected stations on a wider scale.

Financing

AGROMETSERVICE was initially financed by its own funds, subsidies obtained through innovation competitions (POESAM ORANGE) and institutional support (FORCE N). We have also benefited from the support of strategic partners, in particular organisations involved in sustainable agriculture and the fight against climate change.
