Guinée 44 and its partners are taking action through energy-saving cookers, sustainable farming practices, reforestation and awareness-raising initiatives.
The project is part of a cooperation with Orvault, an area committed to ecological transition.

Quantitative results

The project has resulted in the planting of 10,000 endogenous seedlings near watercourses and the protection of 62 hectares. It has trained 65 young people in reforestation and fire prevention techniques. Two VSEs have been supported to produce and market 900 energy-saving iron/ceramic cookers. In addition, 170 women have been trained in the manufacture and use of banco cookers, with the creation of a dedicated fund.

Qualitative results

The project has mobilised 22 civil society organisations to protect the environment, raised awareness among 2,600 pupils in three schools in Kindia, and supported six women leaders to promote the use of banco fireplaces. Three forest management committees have been set up or relaunched. An exchange mission took place between Orvault and Kindia, and three videos were produced on deforestation and biodiversity.
