Téthys student workshop
The aim of the Téthys network, supported by Aix-Marseille University, is to encourage collaboration in the field of higher education and research and to remain a forum for exchange and sharing.

Overview of the project
Each year, the Téthys student workshop offers a three-day interdisciplinary seminar to analyse these impacts and explore adaptation and mitigation strategies.
Students from all disciplines reflect together on the scope of climate change and how to communicate it effectively.
They collectively draft a policy paper on the role of Mediterranean universities in meeting this challenge, which is then presented to university leaders at the General Assembly of the Téthys network.
The aim of this project is to bring together students from the Téthys network around an interdisciplinary reflection on climate change, by encouraging collaboration, critical analysis and scientific communication on an academic and societal scale.
Ongoing research
projet toujours en cours
The first Téthys student workshop on climate change, organised in partnership with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, was held in Madrid with more than 40 doctoral students selected from around a hundred applications.
Coming from a variety of disciplines and fifteen Mediterranean universities, they were accompanied by 10 experts who were also present to supervise the work of the young researchers.
The 2024 workshop was also marked by a student declaration proposing 50 concrete recommendations for combating climate change, available on our website. The project was presented at COP29, during the ‘Towards climate-smart university curricula in the Mediterranean’ session on 18 November 2024.
With Erasmus+ projects and own funds.
