Ecosystem Adaptation for Food Production

Nigerian Women Agro Allied Farmers Association (NIWAAFA) is committed to the empowerment of women in the agricultural sector and is launching a project to improve food production efficiency and the quality of land management systems.

An initiative of Nigerian Women Agro Allied Farmers Association. (NIWAAFA)

Overview of the project

The Nigerian Women Agro Allied Farmers Association (NIWAAFA) aims to train women to become responsible farmers and to make people and communities aware that respecting and adapting food production to ecosystems is essential for sufficient and nutritious crops. Thus, NIWAAFA promotes sustainable agriculture, without the use of microorganisms that cause pollution and degradation of soil and land.

These women, who are often responsible for more than half the farm’s agricultural work yet reap no financial or social benefits, thus have a means of gaining empowerment and visibility in society. By 2025, one million women and youth will be trained and empowered.
