Aquaculture prototypes are already in place, and an initial test of organic fertiliser has been validated, with positive feedback and new ideas under development.

APCAM's missions to date have focused on the participatory and sustainable management of coastal and aquatic ecosystems in the Gulf of Guinea, with a view to conservation and development.

Overview of the project
Mamagofish trains young people, women and fishermen in sustainable aquaculture to strengthen their resilience and preserve the environment. It produces 500 kg of fish per cycle, recycles waste into compost and promotes responsible local consumption.
Training and raising awareness among young people and women about sustainable aquaculture and its advantages, to enable them to help preserve the environment and at the same time combat climate change.

We work with a network of 6 partners (NGOs, companies and associations) for the practical sessions. More than 1,500 people have already learned about aquaculture and responsible consumption.
Participatory funding to date, and in the process of seeking funding for the practical training phases in the field.

APCAM works for the sustainable and participatory management of coastal and aquatic ecosystems in the Gulf of Guinea. It is working to preserve biodiversity, support local communities in their efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, and develop coastal areas using a participatory approach to promote responsible development.
Other partners / supporters
The CWCS will contribute to this initiative by identifying AMCEZ sites, using their database. Once these areas have been identified, we will be able to identify vulnerable communities where people are most in need of our support.
