Overview of the project

Our project supports local stakeholders by building the resilience of grassroots communities to better conserve biodiversity and sustainably manage natural resources.

It is based on a participatory approach with local and indigenous populations to identify groups capable of carrying out actions, in line with the priorities of community organisations.

Local knowledge will be developed through workshops, training courses and exchanges of experience, encouraging the organisation of networks, associations and cooperatives.

Objective

Supporting reforestation measures and joint protection of the environment and promoting adaptation to climate change focused on local grassroots communities in the Mbomou prefecture, support for the resilience of vulnerable local communities.

Quantitative results

Beneficiaries have been trained in intelligent agriculture, environmental protection, good governance and the fight against food insecurity.

Local authorities and community relays strengthened their capacities and conducted awareness-raising campaigns.

A germination test was carried out before the seeds were distributed, which was done on time.

Qualitative results

In terms of quantitative results, 150 beneficiaries received kits and agricultural inputs, including improved seeds.
10 community relays have been recruited and 10 accountability focal points have been set up.
150 vulnerable beneficiaries have benefited from capacity building, and 6 groups have been created.
