The SEMER project is developing the market gardening sector in Nyassia (Casamance, Senegal) by improving access to water and solar electricity. It supports women farmers, strengthens local governance, and aims for sustainable replication in the region.

Support the return of populations to the commune of Nyassia through the development of the market gardening sector using a climate change adaptation approach.

Damaged wells and fragile fences were identified, along with technical challenges faced by the producer groups.
Improvements in food security and women’s autonomy were observed.
The project was integrated into the municipal budget.
Skills were assessed, structured monitoring was put in place, and exchanges were facilitated.
One workshop was organized.
The French Development Agency (AFD) is the main donor of the project. The project's partner, GRDR, also contributes to its co-financing.
